Gross, Break and Net
Gross shift length is the full time from start to end. The break is deducted to get net working time, which is what you are usually paid for. A 22:00 to 06:00 shift with a 30 minute break is 8 hours gross and 7 hours 30 minutes net.
Overnight Shifts
If the end time is earlier than the start time, the shift is treated as crossing midnight. You can override this in the advanced options if your schedule logic is different.
